So here goes yet another start at another try at writing on yet another blog. And now, another theme as well: my affliction with Parkinson's Disease, its progression, and effect on my life. I propose this blog as my journal.
I take my inspiration for this blogging effort from that of others whose stories give me comfort in shared experiences and encouragement of expression. Such stories cross social, cultural, and geographical boundaries thanks to the technologies of the Internet. Such sharing makes us aware of opportunities not available to those of past generations, and indeed, many in our own generation.
My own story begins, unbeknownst to me, in the late Summer of 2006, some four and a half years into my retirement, and just in the midst of building our lake home. But it wasn't until the Summer of 2012 that I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Almost immediately I considered, and started, a journal of this new experience. Now, with the posting that follows this one, I am converting that personal journal into one much more public. That second posting is rather long as it's the conversion of the accumulated entries until now. Presumably, future entries will be briefer.
